History

The development of CorpusLex began in 1999, when Matt P. Lavine sought ways to reduce the time wasted in his own law office. Within two years, Lavine established JDC Legal Solutions to produce a software system that made sense to lawyers and paralegals.

Research and development went far beyond one lawyer's perspective. Hundreds of hours were spent in discussion and observation of lawyers, staff, and technologists in law firms and public agencies of all sizes.

A prototype was engineered in 2002 with the latest Web technologies. When ASP.NET was released,  the entire system was built anew.  Unlike other software systems, CorpusLex was designed from the start for use with an internet browser, thereby reducing the time required for law firms to implement, eliminating their maintenance, and accelerating the users’ ability to access their firms’ records.

Since 2003, CorpusLex has been the management system, and it has far exceeded industry standards for continuous operation.
